The main focus of NACA’s early habitat restoration work which won us recognition with various awards and continues to stand as a blueprint for others to follow. With three stages of work now completed that have reprofiled the river channel and created a superb sequence of riffle/pool habitats.
These features are proving to be just the environment for the growth of young fish and large numbers of specimen barbel, chub, dace and roach proliferate.
Our stockings of barbel have proved an outstanding success with many fish ranging from 3 lb up to over 17 lb.
There is a limit of 35 anglers at the owner's request, which is well suited to the small nature of the river and the swims on offer. All NACA members have the chance to fish this water as guests of season permit holders who must accompany them when they visit the fishery. There is a long waiting list for season permits. |
