The site will be open to the public as a whole during the specified dates and times and the visit will be supervised and led by a representative of the Project Steering Group. The visit and tour of the site will aim to show the benefits of the work undertaken by the Project to not only restore the fishery but more importantly the value of the work to the wildlife and habitats associated with them.
The restoration of traditional water meadow in the flood plain, a practice little encouraged in recent years due to the considered need to get the water out of the river as quickly as possible at times of high winter rainfall to avoid the risk of flooding. The permitted flooding of the meadows alongside the river at Costessey have great benefit to both wildlife and ground water reserves, the flood waters soaking in rather than being rushed out to sea!

To ensure that you are not disappointed by not being able to gain access to one or more of these Open days pleases register your interest 14 days in advance and advise the date of your intended visit so that we can prepare to accommodate your needs.

Failure to register may disappoint!
